Heritage Club

What is it?

The Heritage Club is an association of friends of Boys & Girls Clubs who are leaving a legacy for the future of the Clubs and our youth by naming the Clubs in their estate planning. Planned gifts come in a variety of forms. The most common is the Charitable Bequest - the simple naming of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine in your will. On www.clubgift.org, BGCA has helpful info. In most cases, the language to include is brief and straightforward, such as:

    I devise and bequeath to Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, located in Portland, Maine, the sum of $ ______ (or ______ % of my estate) to be used for its general charitable purposes.

Alternatively, you can designate a residuary bequest:

    I devise and bequeath to Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, located in Portland, Maine, all (or _%) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate whether real, personal, or mixed, to be used for its general charitable purposes.
